Vienna's public transport system is set for significant changes in 2025. The U-Bahn network will undergo modernization, with partial closures on the U4 and U6 lines during summer and school holidays.
Meanwhile, two new tram lines, 12 and 27, will launch in autumn, enhancing connectivity across the city.
Line 12 will link Josefstädter Straße to the Nordbahnviertel, while Line 27 will connect Floridsdorf to Donaustadt.
Additionally, the Koralmbahn, a high-speed rail line between Graz and Klagenfurt, is scheduled to open in December, cutting travel time to just 45 minutes.
However, passengers should prepare for higher costs, as the Klimaticket price will rise to €1,179.30 annually.
