In a startling discovery, over 200 firearms were found in the home of an 85-year-old man in Vienna's Liesing district.

The arsenal was uncovered after a mobile care team called the police when the man allegedly brandished a knife during a routine visit.

The incident occurred around 1:30 PM, prompting the caregiver to flee and alert authorities.

Upon investigation, police found a vast collection of long guns, handguns, swords, ammunition, and black powder in the man's residence.

All items were confiscated, and a temporary weapons ban was imposed on the man, who is also under investigation for coercion.

While there is no legal limit on the number of firearms one can own in Austria, all must be registered in the Central Weapons Register, which currently lists over 1.43 million registered firearms in the country.
