A major police operation unfolded in the Klausgasse area of Vienna-Ottakring late Tuesday night, resulting in the death of a man during a forced entry into an apartment.

Authorities reported that the situation escalated over several hours, with the suspect barricading himself inside and allegedly throwing objects from the window.

Despite attempts to negotiate, police were compelled to enter the residence, leading to gunfire and an explosion that caused a fire.

Six individuals sustained minor injuries during the incident, and emergency services were on the scene.
