In Vienna's Hernals district, a 28-year-old man was arrested after allegedly assaulting an unknown woman on the street.

The incident, which occurred early Saturday morning, escalated when police arrived on the scene.

According to reports, the man became extremely aggressive during the arrest process, striking one officer in the face with his elbow.

This led to the use of pepper spray by the officers to subdue him.

Despite the altercation, the two injured officers were able to continue their duties.
