A tragic car accident occurred on the Hintersee Landesstraße (L202) in Salzburg, resulting in the death of a 61-year-old woman and injuring four others.

The incident happened when a young driver attempted to overtake a bus on a long right-hand curve, leading to a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle carrying four women aged between 52 and 61. Emergency services, including the fire departments from Hof bei Salzburg and Faistenau, responded promptly, providing medical assistance and clearing the accident site.

The injured were transported to nearby hospitals, with one critically injured person airlifted to a specialized clinic.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the crash, but initial tests showed the young driver was not under the influence of alcohol.
