A tragic weekend on Austria's roads saw multiple fatal accidents, including two deaths in Burgenland and near Vienna.

In Oberwart, a 48-year-old Hungarian woman lost her life in a collision involving three vehicles on the B63a.

Two others sustained serious injuries, while two more were lightly hurt.

Meanwhile, on the A1 near Purkersdorf, a 73-year-old woman was killed when her car was struck by another vehicle after she had pulled over for unknown reasons.

Emergency services responded quickly, but the woman could not be saved.
