The Tullnerfeld train station in Lower Austria is set to resume operations on Monday, albeit with limited services, following severe flood damage in mid-September.
The CJX5 line will restart its commuter service from Vienna Westbahnhof at 4:48 AM and from Tullnerfeld at 5:20 AM, with trains running every 30 minutes during peak morning hours and hourly thereafter.
Afternoon and evening services will also see a return to 30-minute intervals.
While the platforms are accessible via stairs and elevators, the station's usual amenities remain unavailable as repair work continues.
The Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) has opted to carry out further renovations during active service to minimize disruption for passengers, though this means some noise and inconvenience.
Full restoration of the new West route, including the Atzenbrugger Tunnel, is expected by December 15, with a temporary closure planned for mid-2025 to complete final repairs.
