A tragic incident unfolded in Feldkirchen an der Donau, Upper Austria, when a professional diver drowned while retrieving golf balls from the Mühldorfweiher, a popular fishing lake.

The diver, a 55-year-old professional associated with the fire department, was observed by his girlfriend as he embarked on his dive.

Alarm was raised when she noticed the absence of air bubbles, indicating distress.

Despite the rapid response of eight fire brigades and water rescue teams, all efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

The diver was found in the icy waters about 20 meters from the shore, but unfortunately, he could not be saved.
