A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday afternoon in Lower Austria, where a 28-year-old man drowned in a bathing pond in Grafenwörth, Tulln district.
The man reportedly suffered an epileptic seizure while swimming, which led to his drowning.
A professional diver, who was at the scene by chance, managed to retrieve the man from a depth of up to eight meters.
Despite the swift response, emergency services were unable to resuscitate him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The local police confirmed the unfortunate event on Sunday, highlighting the unpredictable nature of such medical emergencies.
