A major overnight operation took place on the Inntalautobahn (A12) in Tirol, Austria, as a 51-meter-long bridge near Ampass was demolished.
The bridge, originally built in 1968, was removed between Hall-West and Innsbruck-Ost from 8 PM Saturday to 6 AM Sunday.
To protect the road surface, the highway was raised by 40 centimeters, allowing heavy machinery to safely carry out the demolition.
Traffic was rerouted via the Tiroler Straße (B171) during the closure.
The demolition was scheduled at night to minimize disruption, as traffic is lighter during these hours.
The bridge will be replaced with a new structure by the end of the year, ensuring continued connectivity for the region.
Local residents were informed, and measures were taken to maintain access to their homes during the work.
