The Tauernautobahn (A10) in Austria has become a significant bottleneck due to ongoing tunnel construction and recent technical issues.
Holidaymakers returning from the south have faced severe delays, with traffic jams stretching over 16 kilometers in some areas.
The situation worsened when software problems led to the temporary closure of two tunnels, causing further diversions and congestion.
Although these technical issues have been resolved, the construction work continues to cause significant delays, particularly during peak travel times.
The highway operator, Asfinag, warns that these disruptions are expected to persist until early October, urging both travelers and locals to remain patient as they navigate the congested routes.
