A 65-year-old man who went missing while hiking on the Katrin mountain near Bad Ischl was found dead after a two-day search.
The man had taken the cable car to the summit on Thursday and later informed his partner that he was lost during his descent.
Despite declining assistance from mountain rescue services, he maintained contact until around 8:00 PM, when communication ceased.
Search efforts began late Thursday night, involving police, firefighters, and drones, but were hampered by poor weather conditions.
On Friday, a large-scale search was launched, with nearly 100 volunteers combing the area.
Unfortunately, the search ended tragically when the man was discovered deceased in the early evening.
