A tragic alpine accident occurred in Styria, Austria, where a 62-year-old hiker was found dead after going missing.
The man, from the Linz-Land district, had set out alone for a hike towards Peternscharte on Wednesday morning.
His wife reported him missing later that day when he failed to return.
Search efforts intensified, but it was not until Thursday that rescue teams discovered his body.
It is believed he fell approximately 250 meters while ascending near the Peternpfad trail.
Despite the quick response from emergency services, they could only recover his remains, marking a somber end to the search.
