A tragic accident occurred during a Sunday cycling outing in Aurach am Hongar, Upper Austria, when a 58-year-old man lost control of his e-bike.

The incident happened shortly after a bend on the descent from the 940-meter-high Hongar, where the cyclist veered off the road and fell into rough terrain in a nearby forest.

His friends, part of a six-member group, quickly called for emergency services.

Despite the efforts of rescue teams to revive him, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

This unfortunate event highlights the dangers of cycling in challenging terrains, even among experienced riders.
