A serious accident occurred in Mittersill, Salzburg, on Sunday evening when a car crashed into a local restaurant, injuring six people.

The incident took place around 10 PM at the Mittersill town square, where the driver, instead of taking a curve, drove straight into the establishment.

The crash resulted in three people being seriously injured and three others sustaining minor injuries.

All the injured were transported to the accident hospitals in Schwarzach and Zell am See.

The police have classified the event as an accident, and a large emergency response was deployed, including six ambulances and two emergency doctors.

A crisis intervention team was also on-site to assist numerous witnesses who experienced the traumatic event.
