A tense encounter unfolded in Vienna's Favoriten district on Saturday evening when police stopped a group of teenagers after spotting one handling a knife.

During the routine check, a 14-year-old boy attacked an officer, striking him in the chest, and attempted to flee.

The police quickly apprehended the suspect and later discovered a butterfly knife and brass knuckles nearby, which the teenager admitted to possessing.

The boy was charged with resisting law enforcement and illegal weapon possession but was released pending further investigation.

Authorities also imposed a temporary weapons ban on him.

This incident highlights growing concerns about youth violence in the area.
