A 57-year-old man was seriously injured after being trampled by a herd of cows while walking his dog in Hochfilzen, Tirol.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning around 11 AM on a fenced cow pasture at Schüttachalm.
According to police, the herd charged at the man, knocking him to the ground and injuring him with their hooves.
Bystanders were able to scare the cows away, and emergency responders provided initial care before airlifting the man to St.
Johann Hospital.
This incident adds to a troubling trend in Tirol, where several similar attacks on hikers have been reported in recent weeks, resulting in significant injuries.
