In a tragic turn of events, two German hikers lost their lives in separate alpine accidents in Kärnten, Austria, on Friday.

The first incident occurred at Emberger Alm in the Drautal region, where a hiker, part of a group, met with a fatal accident.

Despite rescue efforts by helicopter and alpine police, the individual could not be saved.

Shortly before, another fatal accident took place in the Garnitzenklamm area of the Gailtal.

Here, a hiker fell from a secured section of the popular trail, resulting in a tragic loss of life.

Both victims were confirmed to be German nationals.

The incidents highlight the inherent risks of mountain hiking, even on well-traveled paths.
