A family in St.
Wolfgang, Austria, faced a terrifying situation when a schnitzel frying attempt led to a house fire on July 31, 2024. The 56-year-old father, along with his 28-year-old daughter, 26-year-old daughter-in-law, and their children, were preparing lunch using a new deep fryer located in the pantry on the first floor.
Shortly after turning on the fryer, flames erupted from the device, causing a rapid increase in smoke.
The father attempted to extinguish the fire with a powder extinguisher but quickly realized the pantry was fully ablaze.
The family managed to escape unharmed as the fire spread to the second floor and roof of the wooden building.
Approximately 165 firefighters responded with 32 vehicles, and the fire was declared under control by 5:30 PM.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the extent of the damage remains unknown.
