A family of four was dramatically rescued from a burning apartment in Saalfelden, Salzburg, on Wednesday evening.

The fire broke out on the first floor of the building around 6 p.

m.

The parents passed their two young children, aged three and four, through a window to the safety of passers-by.

Firefighters used extension ladders to rescue the parents, while 41 firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.

All family members were taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
