Fire Evacuates Over 100 Guests in Filzmoos

A fire broke out in a hotel in Filzmoos, Salzburg Pongau, on Wednesday afternoon, prompting the evacuation of over 100 guests.

The flames quickly spread to the roof, fueled by strong winds, making firefighting efforts challenging.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all guests were safely relocated to a nearby kindergarten, where they received support from the Red Cross.

Firefighters from multiple local communities, including Eben, Altenmarkt, and St.

Johann, worked tirelessly to contain the blaze, which was reported at 3:14 PM.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the police, and significant damage is expected.

Firefighting efforts continued into the early hours of Thursday, with additional support from neighboring fire departments.
