A swift response from over 100 firefighters successfully contained a fire that erupted in a garage extension in St.
Johann, Salzburg, on Saturday afternoon.
The blaze, which prompted a level three alarm, threatened a nearby residential building.
The homeowner, who first noticed smoke emanating from the carport, attempted to douse the flames himself but was unsuccessful, leading to the emergency call.
Fire departments from St.
Johann, Schwarzach, and Bischofshofen quickly mobilized, deploying 19 vehicles to the scene.
Their coordinated efforts prevented the fire from spreading to the house, and they managed to save two cars from the burning garage.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
