A devastating fire broke out at the historic Landhotel Stockerwirt in Vorderstoder, Austria, in the early hours of Saturday, forcing the evacuation of 40 guests.

The blaze, which started in a guestroom due to an electrical fault, quickly spread to the roof, causing damage estimated in the millions.

Nine fire brigades and 150 firefighters battled the flames through the night, facing challenges like freezing conditions and complex building layouts.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, thanks to the hotel's alarm system that alerted guests in time.

The displaced guests were temporarily housed in nearby facilities, but the hotel remains closed, with its restaurant and reception severely damaged.

Investigations continue to determine the exact device that caused the fire.
