An 85-year-old woman in Marchtrenk, Austria, became the victim of a violent home invasion on December 22. The masked attacker ambushed her as she took out the trash, forcing her back into her house.

She was tied up with cable ties, beaten, and threatened to reveal the location of her money.

Despite handing over her wallet, the intruder demanded more and eventually found a safe.

Under duress, the woman opened it, but it contained no cash, only jewelry, which the attacker left untouched.

The assailant then locked her in the bathroom and sprayed two fire extinguishers throughout the house before fleeing.

The woman, who sustained minor injuries, managed to call the police.

Authorities are seeking information about the suspect, described as 1.80 meters tall, wearing dark clothing, and speaking in an Upper Austrian dialect.
