In Wiener Neustadt, a high-ranking officer of the Austrian Armed Forces caused a traffic accident while driving a military vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
The incident occurred late at night when the officer, with a blood alcohol level of 1.6 per mille, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall.
The police, upon arriving at the scene, confiscated the officer's driver's license and initiated a legal process for its revocation.
The Austrian Armed Forces have also launched an internal disciplinary investigation to determine further consequences.
This incident follows a similar case involving a police officer in the same region, highlighting concerns over alcohol consumption among officials.
