The Austrian court has requested the National Council to lift the parliamentary immunity of Green Party MP Olga Voglauer.
This follows a defamation lawsuit filed by far-right figure Martin Sellner, who claims Voglauer falsely accused him of performing a Nazi salute at a protest in July.
While Voglauer's comments on social media sparked controversy, the allegations against Sellner remain unconfirmed.
A civil court had already ruled against Voglauer, ordering her to retract her statement.
The National Council must now decide if her remarks were part of her parliamentary duties.
The Green Party criticized Sellner's actions as an attempt to suppress political critique.
