A 92-year-old driver caused a dangerous incident in Vienna-Währing on Friday afternoon during a large-scale operation.

The driver reportedly failed to brake and struck a police officer who was securing traffic due to a house fire on Gymnasiumstraße.

The officer, who had his back to the road while blocking a lane, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Witnesses confirmed that the car hit the officer without slowing down.

The vehicle sustained minor damage, and the elderly driver is now under investigation for suspected negligent bodily harm.

Authorities are continuing their inquiries into the matter.
