In the wake of severe flooding in Lower Austria, over 40 municipalities have been declared disaster areas, prompting a significant response from emergency services.

The regions of Zwettl, Horn, Krems, Tulln, and Gmünd are among the hardest hit.

In a show of solidarity, 66 firefighters from Vorarlberg have been dispatched to assist their counterparts in the affected areas.

Equipped with heavy-duty pumps, these teams are working tirelessly to manage the floodwaters and protect critical infrastructure.

The deployment is planned for four days, with a rotation of fresh forces every 48 hours to ensure continuous support.

This collaborative effort underscores the resilience and community spirit in the face of natural disasters, as Vorarlberg remains largely unaffected by the storms, yet fully committed to aiding those in need.
