A tragic accident in Graz has claimed the life of a seven-year-old boy who was struck by a streetcar.

The incident occurred on August 8th near the Steyrergasse stop, when the child ran onto the tracks and was hit by an oncoming streetcar despite emergency braking efforts.

The boy was immediately taken to Graz Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Sadly, after a courageous fight, he succumbed to his injuries on Friday.

The Graz professional fire department had to use a rescue cushion to lift the streetcar and free the child.

This heartbreaking event has left the community in mourning.
