A scandal has erupted at Graz Regional Hospital after a 13-year-old girl allegedly participated in an emergency surgery under the supervision of her mother, a surgeon.
The incident, which involved a seriously injured patient, has led to the dismissal of both the mother and another doctor involved in the operation.
The case came to light when the "Krone" newspaper reported that the underage girl manipulated the patient during the urgent procedure.
Following the investigation, the hospital confirmed that the trust between the medical staff had been irreparably damaged, prompting immediate action.
The public prosecutor's office in Graz is now investigating the entire surgical team present during the operation, raising serious concerns about medical ethics and patient safety.
