A six-year-old girl suffered severe injuries after being attacked by a Rottweiler in Kirchberg ob der Donau, Austria, on New Year's Day.

The dog, owned by her neighbor, was undergoing training exercises led by the owner's ten-year-old daughter when the incident occurred.

The Rottweiler targeted the younger girl's fur-lined jacket, biting her shoulder, arm, and leg.

Despite the older girl's attempts to intervene by shouting at the dog, she was also bitten, though her injuries were minor.

The six-year-old was airlifted to Kepler University Hospital in Linz for emergency treatment.

Local authorities are investigating the incident.
