On a Saturday afternoon, a power outage hit Vienna's Prater amusement park, leaving its rides without electricity for about an hour.
The incident, described as a "small power outage" by Wiener Netze, primarily affected the amusement rides, while the surrounding residential area in Leopoldstadt remained unaffected.
The outage, which began around 3:40 PM, was reportedly due to a transformer failure, though investigations are ongoing.
The Vienna Fire Department was on standby to assist with potential evacuations, but fortunately, no such measures were needed as the power was restored by 6 PM.
Visitors were able to safely exit the rides once the electricity was back.
Despite the disruption, the situation was managed efficiently, ensuring the safety of all guests.
