In the early hours of Thursday, a massive fire broke out at a temporary bulky waste site in Einsiedl, Sieghartskirchen, following recent floods in the Tulln district of Lower Austria.
The fire, which involved a large pile of flood-damaged furniture and appliances, prompted the deployment of 15 fire brigades with 110 firefighters.
Due to the hazardous smoke, residents in nearby areas were advised to keep their windows closed, and an AT-Alert was issued.
Firefighters, equipped with heavy breathing apparatus, worked tirelessly to control the blaze, using machinery to separate the waste for more effective extinguishing.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and efforts to fully extinguish it are ongoing.
