A devastating fire broke out on a farm in St.
Georgen am Walde, Austria, late Thursday night, killing 40 cows and calves and causing millions of euros in damage.
The blaze, which started due to a defective heat lamp installed to warm a newborn calf, quickly engulfed the barn.
The farmer was alerted by a power outage notification from his milking robot and immediately called the fire department while evacuating his family.
Over 190 firefighters from 13 units battled the flames, rescuing more than 100 animals despite initial challenges with water supply.
Tragically, some animals could not be saved, and the fire destroyed one barn entirely and partially damaged two others.
The quick response prevented the flames from spreading to the residential area, and no human injuries were reported.
