On the symbolic anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Austria conducted a sweeping anti-terror operation targeting around 20 suspects across the country.
The raids, led by Cobra elite police and the Directorate for State Protection and Intelligence (DSN), focused on private residences and prison cells of convicted IS supporters.
Authorities searched four houses and inspected 39 cells in ten prisons, aiming to prevent potential terror activities.
While no immediate threats like bomb-making materials were found, numerous mobile phones and computers were seized for further investigation.
This operation underscores Austria's vigilance against terrorism, especially amid rising radicalization influenced by global conflicts.
