In East Tyrol, Austria, wolves have been spotted in residential areas, causing alarm among locals.
A deer carcass was found near a house in Sillian, with evidence suggesting it was killed by a wolf.
Following these incidents, the Tyrolean government has issued a regulation allowing the shooting of one wolf, effective for eight weeks.
Two wolves were seen in Sillian, and another predator was reported in Heinfels.
Officials stated that the wolves appear to have lost their fear of humans, heightening concerns for public safety.
Last year, similar measures were taken, resulting in the shooting of two wolves.
Authorities emphasize that such actions are necessary to protect the community.
