A tragic knife attack in Villach, Austria, has left the nation in shock.

A 23-year-old Syrian man, reportedly radicalized online, killed a 14-year-old boy and injured several others in what authorities are calling an Islamist terror attack linked to IS.

The attacker was stopped by a heroic Syrian food delivery driver who used his car to intervene.

Interior Minister Gerhard Karner has called for stricter measures, including mass checks targeting specific groups, to prevent such incidents.

Investigations revealed the attacker had displayed IS symbols at home and had pledged allegiance to the group.

A memorial march and service are planned in Villach to honor the victims and promote unity.
