A series of bomb threats targeting Austrian train stations and schools has been traced back to a 20-year-old suspect in Switzerland.
Both Austrian and Swiss authorities are conducting independent investigations into the threats, which have caused significant disruptions but no actual harm.
The suspect, who reportedly has psychological issues, is believed to have sent threatening emails from Switzerland, leading to police searches and temporary closures of affected sites.
Despite the serious nature of the threats, the suspect cannot be extradited to Austria due to his Swiss citizenship.
Authorities in Linz have requested that Swiss judicial authorities take over the prosecution.
The ongoing investigation aims to prevent further threats and ensure public safety.
