The SPÖ Burgenland recently held a significant Landesparteitag, marking the start of their campaign for the upcoming Landtagswahl on January 19, 2025. Hans Peter Doskozil, the current leader, was re-elected with an impressive 99.6% of the votes, reinforcing his strong position within the party.

The event, attended by over 1,100 guests, featured former Chancellor Christian Kern as a guest speaker, who called for unity within the SPÖ and praised Doskozil's leadership.

Despite Kern's appeal for reconciliation between the SPÖ factions in Burgenland and Vienna, Doskozil emphasized the importance of maintaining an independent path for the region.

The party also announced new candidates for the election, with fresh faces leading in several districts.

The focus remains on expanding their absolute majority and continuing their unique approach to governance in Burgenland.
