In a significant political shift, Burgenland's SPÖ, led by Hans Peter Doskozil, has initiated coalition talks with the Greens following the recent state elections.

The SPÖ, which secured 46.6% of the vote, lost its absolute majority and chose the Greens, who garnered 5.7%, as their partner.

Doskozil emphasized honesty and stability as reasons for rejecting alliances with the FPÖ and ÖVP.
