Heavy rainfall combined with frozen ground caused severe flooding in Salzburg's Lungau region on Tuesday.
The hardest-hit area was the municipality of St.
Michael, where water inundated homes, barns, and roads, particularly in low-lying areas.
Firefighters worked tirelessly, deploying pumps capable of moving 18,000 liters of water per minute to manage the deluge.
A total of 33 firefighters and seven vehicles were involved, with operations starting around midday and concluding by 9 PM.
Other areas, such as Ramingstein, also experienced flooding, with crews addressing blocked drains and waterlogged fields.
The swift response helped mitigate further damage, but the scale of the flooding highlighted the challenges posed by extreme weather conditions.
