Selma Arapović has been named the new leader and top candidate for the Vienna NEOS, following a series of leadership changes.

Christoph Wiederkehr, the former leader, stepped down to focus on his new role as Austria's Minister of Education.

Arapović, who fled Bosnia in 1992 and has been active in politics since 2015, takes over as the party's face for the upcoming Vienna elections.

She previously served as a city councilor and was responsible for urban development and housing.

Arapović expressed her commitment to continuing the NEOS' work for Vienna, emphasizing education and progress.

The party aims to maintain its momentum in the April elections under her leadership.
