A 19-year-old prisoner has escaped from the Forensic Therapeutic Center in Vienna-Margareten, sparking an intensive police manhunt.

The escape occurred on Monday afternoon, with the prisoner reportedly using his position as a houseworker to flee via scaffolding on the building's facade.

Despite immediate search efforts, the police have yet to locate the individual, who is considered potentially dangerous due to his mental health condition.

The center houses individuals who have committed crimes under the influence of severe mental disorders.
