A dramatic manhunt in Austria has led to the arrest of a second fugitive who escaped from a secure facility in Bavaria, Germany.

The man, part of a group of four who fled the Straubing district hospital in mid-August, was captured in a forest near Graz, Styria.

The escapees, considered dangerous, had taken a staff member hostage to facilitate their escape.

The recent arrest follows the capture of another fugitive in the same region last month.

Authorities had launched an alarm search after a witness reported seeing the suspect in a black vehicle.

The captured individual is now in custody and will face questioning regarding crimes committed during his escape.
