His calm and authoritative presence made him a household name.

He also co-commentated the historic live broadcast of the first moon landing in 1969, a 28-hour marathon that captivated audiences.

Beyond television, Nidetzky was deeply involved in equestrian sports, organizing the annual "Fest der Pferde" in Vienna and serving in various leadership roles within the Austrian equestrian community.

His passing has also impacted political schedules, as his son-in-law, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, postponed meetings to be with family.
