A bank in Mieders, Tirol, was robbed late Tuesday morning, marking yet another incident in a series of bank heists in the region.
The suspect, reportedly armed with a handgun, managed to escape, prompting a large-scale police search.
Authorities have set up checkpoints on the Brennerautobahn and in the Patsch area, deploying heavily armed officers and a police helicopter.
The special unit Cobra is also involved in the manhunt.
Details about the robbery and the amount stolen remain unclear as investigations continue.
This incident follows a string of bank robberies in Tirol, including a notable case in Innsbruck last month where a suspect was arrested but not yet confessed.
