Vienna Police Ban Protests Over Economic Concerns

In Vienna, planned demonstrations by the group "Fairdenken" have been prohibited by the police, citing concerns over the disruption of business activities and traffic flow in the city's shopping streets.

The protests, originally scheduled for November 9th, were postponed following public outcry over the date's historical significance.

The demonstrations, titled "Frieden und Neutralität!" aimed to advocate for the inclusion of the FPÖ in government.

Legal experts have criticized the police's decision, arguing that the justification of protecting economic interests over the right to assemble is insufficient.

Despite the ban, organizers have encouraged supporters to visit Vienna for leisure activities, such as visiting Christmas markets, while they pursue legal action to overturn the prohibition.
