Severe flooding in Austria has claimed the lives of five individuals, with Niederösterreich being the hardest hit.
Among the victims are an 80-year-old man and a 70-year-old retired farmer, both found dead in their homes after attempting to combat the rising waters.
The farmer tragically perished while trying to save his tractors.
Additionally, a firefighter lost his life during rescue operations.
The relentless rain has turned streams into raging torrents, isolating 26 towns and prompting the government to allocate 75 million euros for immediate relief.
Emergency responders, both professional and volunteer, are working tirelessly under immense physical and emotional strain, as they witness the devastation and loss faced by affected communities.
