Severe Storms Cause Chaos Across Europe

Published: 2024-09-15

Severe storms have wreaked havoc across Europe, causing widespread flooding and power outages.

In Austria, over 40 municipalities in Lower Austria have been declared disaster areas due to rising river levels.

Meanwhile, in Romania, four people have died, and 90 have been evacuated as floodwaters reached up to 1.7 meters.

Switzerland also reported a fatality due to falling tree debris.

In the Czech Republic, 60,000 households are without power, and numerous regions are experiencing high water levels.

The storms, driven by Cyclone Boris, have also disrupted rail services and led to emergency preparations in cities like Prague.

The situation remains critical as authorities brace for further rainfall and rising water levels.
