A seven-year-old boy named Maximilian was successfully revived after nearly drowning at a public swimming pool in Pfarrkirchen, Upper Austria.
The incident occurred on Wednesday when Maximilian, who was swimming without any flotation devices, suddenly stopped moving while diving underwater.
His mother quickly pulled him out of the water and called for help.
Two off-duty intensive care nurses and two paramedics from the Red Cross were present and immediately began resuscitation efforts.
When the emergency doctor arrived, he intubated Maximilian, stabilizing him for transport.
He was then airlifted by helicopter to a children's hospital in Linz.
Fortunately, thanks to the quick response of those nearby, the boy is now receiving the care he needs.
